Our History
The Story Behind GMC Mineral Traders Corporation

Grace Montero
Founder/CEO
It all started in the most unexpected way.
Our founder wasn’t a miner. She wasn’t a trader either. She was a translator, working with Chinese buyers eager to purchase copper ore. At first, it felt like the opportunity of a lifetime – she’s helping connect cultures and being part of something bigger than herself.
But the excitement quickly turned to unease.
She witnessed that most transactions were happening in the shadows.
Papers weren’t in order.
Deals carried enormous risks.
And deep inside, she knew a truth that kept her awake at night:
one wrong move could destroy not just businesses, but families, communities, and the very land that sustained her community.
One evening, something changed.
She was sitting alone, heart pounding, and wrestling with questions:
“Why does everything have to be under the table?
Why does doing things the right way feel almost impossible?”
That moment became her turning point.
She decided to do something different.
A trusted mentor from the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) empowered and taught her that pursuing legality – even when tedious – was the only sustainable path forward.

Camp 6, Kennon Road
Baguio City
She remembered her father, who founded Golden Hills Mines.
He was the person who showed her that perseverance and honesty weren’t just values – they were the essential tools for survival and success.
From these two important persons in her life, our founder learned a fundamental lesson:
You can either build something that lasts, or build something that crumbles.
She said: If I’m going to do this business, I’ll do it right.
What began as frustration became her mission.
Even if it wasn’t easy, she was able to build a licensed, transparent, and reliable business that small-scale miners and farmers could actually trust. Yes, getting permits felt like climbing Mt. Pulag. Yes, it demanded patience, time, and sacrifice. But each paper signed and each inspection passed became proof that success is possible.
Today, that mission lives in GMC Mineral Waste Trading.
We’re more than suppliers of cyanide, carbon, and precious metals like gold, silver, and copper. We’re partners in livelihood – ensuring small miners and farmers have access to affordable, safe, and legally compliant resources that help them build sustainable futures.
Our foundation rests on community service, stewardship, teamwork, respect, family values, and unwavering reliability.
These aren’t marketing words – they’re the principles that transformed our founder’s life and now guide every decision we make. These are the values we instill in every employee and partner, creating a ripple effect of integrity throughout the mining industry.
Every time a client tells us, “Thank you for being honest and transparent,” we’re reminded why GMC exists.
This isn’t just about selling chemicals or trading minerals. This is about dignity. This is about trust. This is about giving miners and farmers what they deserve: a fair chance to work, grow, and pass on something better to the next generation.
For our buyers of gold, silver, and copper, we offer something equally valuable: complete peace of mind.
When you work with GMC, you know your investment is protected by our commitment to legal compliance, quality assurance, and transparent practices.
